The tube runs above and below the plate, the light source is a tricolor LED, and the fixture is operated from a wall switch.
Lit, the bubbles inside the acrylic catch the light and scatter it, so a narrow fixture throws a soft, broken glow up and down the wall rather than a hard beam. It suits the places a lamp cannot go — either side of a bed, a hallway that reads as an afterthought, a mirror that needs light from the sides rather than above.
